As global health priorities rapidly transformed in 2020, it became increasingly challenging for the WHO to provide relevant policies and programmes for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health priorities.

To harness the power of community knowledge to tailor contextually feasible, appropriate and attractive practices for target populations, the WHO Global Coordination Mechanism on NCDs (GCM/NCD) brought together colleagues, representatives and individuals with lived experience to a virtual consultation. The goal: to identify opportunities and challenges in meaningful engagement of people living with NCDs (PLWNCDs).

Nothing for Us, Without Us is the meeting report stemming from the consultation. The digital publication presents key themes, collective learnings, seven next steps to undertake, along with quote and visualisations of results from a virtual survey. Working with a carefully considered typographic system, an array of colours and the speech bubble key visual, we were able to capture the spirit and energy of the consultation in an accessible and engaging way.
